Our commitment
Green electricity
Since 2018, our own photovoltaic panels have been generating part of our energy. We buy the rest from the Enercoop cooperative. Electricity that comes 100% from renewable energy sources and 0% from nuclear power.
You can charge your car with 100% green electricity at our charging station.
To reduce electricity consumption, we have fitted our lights with LEDs or energy-saving bulbs and installed solar lamps and motion detectors outside.
When purchasing household appliances, we make sure to choose particularly economical and repairable appliances.
Greener heating by solar power
Since 2017, the heating and hot water supply for all the houses has been centralised. Solar thermal collectors on the south-facing roof heat the water in a large storage tank. In summer, 80-100% of the hot water used in our house is heated by the sun. In spring and autumn, this system also supports the heating.
In cloudy weather, the gas heating kicks in.
To reduce gas consumption, the attic has been insulated with a layer of rock wool and all windows and glass doors are double-glazed.
Zero waste
The waste that is not produced is the best waste.
We try to avoid packaging and especially plastic. For example, we buy liquid soaps, detergents and other cleaning products from shops where we can fill them ourselves; most of the products in our shop are plastic-free and some of the jars and bottles are reused.
Less polluting mobility
Electric cars can be charged with green electricity at a charging station at cost price.
So that you can explore the beautiful hiking and cycling trails in the surrounding area, we have developed cycle tours that start from our hotel. Hiking maps are also available for hire.
Natural garden
The garden around the holiday homes has been lovingly created with respect for the surrounding nature. Numerous trees and shrubs have been planted, as well as some palm trees, and new ones are added every year. It is the native plants that provide the most suitable food and shelter for insects, birds and other wildlife all year round.
Pesticides and chemical fertiliser have been banned since our arrival in 2016.
